What to Expect
Assessment
The initial complementary consultation will be between 15-20 minutes. You will fill out a health intake form and we will discuss your overall health, past or current injuries, daily activities, diet and goals. A physical assessment will then take place to help me discern the best treatment option for your current condition. I will do a combination of assessments including: postural exam, neurological testing, orthopedic assessment, range of motion, strength test and a palpation exam relevant to your condition.
Treatment
We will agree on a course of action based on the outcome of your health intake, assessments performed and begin the treatment. Bodywork can be done both clothed or with certain areas exposed. I will address the areas of concern and depending on the treatment may work on the full body. Sometimes you will be getting off the table during the treatment to reassess and then continue with the treatment. Treatment modalities can include: Soft or Deep Tissue Massage, Myofascial Release, Cupping, Trigger Point Therapy, Joint Mobilization and Stretching.
Homework
My clients ALWAYS receive some corrective exercises, stretches or other recommendations that will help expedite results. Your participation and commitment to following through with the recommendations is one of the most important steps of rehab!
